Concrete walkways and paths in Long Beach and Lakewood
A good walkway is level where you step, sloped where water needs to go and wide enough for two people or a trash can. We lay out curves and widths with you on site before anything gets formed.

Finish options
Choose a look for your walkway
Every option is priced on the same base and slab. Tell us which ones you like and we'll price them side by side.

Broom finish
- Look
- Fine brushed texture, plain gray or integral color.
- Upkeep
- Reseal every 2 to 3 years if you want it to stay stain resistant.
- Relative cost
- Lowest per square foot.

Stained or colored
- Look
- Color mixed into the concrete or stained into the surface after it cures.
- Upkeep
- Sealer keeps the color even; UV and pool water wear it over time.
- Relative cost
- Low to mid on top of the base slab.

Stamped
- Look
- Pressed patterns like slate, ashlar stone, cobble or wood plank, with release color.
- Upkeep
- Reseal every 2 to 3 years to keep the color and protect the texture.
- Relative cost
- Mid to high, depends on pattern and colors.

Pavers
- Look
- Individual units on a compacted base. Many shapes and blends.
- Upkeep
- Re-sand joints and reseal every few years; single units can be lifted and reset.
- Relative cost
- Mid to high, more labor per square foot.

FAQ
Walkways questions
How wide should a front walk be?
About 4 feet lets two people walk side by side. Side-yard paths for trash bins work at 3 feet or more.
Can a walkway curve?
Yes. Curves are formed with flexible forms, and we place joints so cracks don't cut across the narrow points.
Can you match my existing concrete?
We can get close with color and finish, but new concrete rarely matches weathered concrete exactly. We'll show you samples first.
What about steps?
We form steps with even rise and run so they're comfortable and safe, and check whether your city has rules for the height.
